Gold is applied two ways: a rich band of 24k gold foil bonded using the ancient Keum Boo technique, and a separate plane fused with 18k gold for a deeper, more textural glow. At the center, a striking Koroit boulder opal echoes the metalwork with its network of earthy browns, ochres, and flashes of gold.
