Eaton as Captain in the Second Regiment of Infantry as of March 1, 1837. Signed by the Secretary of War, J. R Poinsett and President Martin Van Buren, signed on the date February 20,1840. The document measures 352mm (w) x 425mm (h), with a seal present near the top left corner, heavy creasing and light foxing, slight discolouration around the edges and crease lines, remains in very fine condition.
