After serving in WWI, Mller left the army as a senior lieutenant to join the police forces in 1920. In 1935 he joined the Wehrmacht. In 1939 he was the commander of the Wehrmacht Signal Headquarters in Brnn (modern day Brno, Czech Republic). Between 1940 and 1943 he commanded the Army
